Printed route maps can be found at the information desk and route cheerleaders will be placed around the route to assist walkers.  A digital route map will also be available for download in April.

What if it rains?

Mental health is important, RAIN OR SHINE.  You can count us to walk ON - a little rain won't stop us!

Where do I park?

Parking for NAMIWalks Maryland is offered for FREE this year thanks to Hunt Valley Towne Centre!  NAMIWalks Maryland participants are able to park anywhere in Hunt Valley Towne Centre EXCEPT for the Wegmans parking lot.

Overflow parking is still being determined.  Check back here closer to Walk Day and keep an eye on your emails for additional information!

Handicap parking is also available for participants.  Please contact Danielle at dfletcher@namimd.org for additional information.

Are there bathrooms available?

Yes!  Portable toilets will be provided on Walk Day.  They will be situated on the southwest side of the map next to the Information Tent.

Registration:

I registered online.  Do I need to check-in on Walk Day?

Yes, all participants must check-in on Walk Day.  You can check-in at the check-in desk or scan the QR codes on the various signs posted on the field to check-in digitally.

I'm a Team Captain.  Can I check-in my entire team?

No, each participant needs to check-in themselves.

Do I need to register to participate in the Walk?

Yes!  Everyone must register to participate (but don't worry - it's free!)

Here's how you can register:

  • We encourage everyone to register in advance ONLINE.
  • On-site registration at the Walk is from 7:00 am - 8:00 am at the On-Site Registration Tent.  If you have already registered, you just need to stop by the Check-In desk.
  • You can print out the same-day registration form HERE and bring it to the On-Site Registration Tent on Walk Day.  These forms will also be available on Walk Day.

The Walk:

Can I run instead of walk?

NAMIWalks is a non-competitive event, so the majority of people will be walkers.  If you would like to run, please run off to the side and be considerate of our walkers!

Are strollers allowed?

Yes!  Strollers and wagons are allowed.  We are family-friendly and hope to see all of you on Walk Day, June 1st!

Are pets allowed?

Yes, we welcome your furry friends!  All four-legged companions must be attended by their owners and be kept on a leash at all times.

Fun Stuff:

What types of activities can I expect at the Walk?

NAMIWalks Maryland will be full of fun activities!  We'll have:

  • A Photo Booth
  • Henna and Face Painting
  • Free snacks
  • A “Why I Walk” station where you can make your own personalized NAMIWalks sign
  • Interactive community resource booths from local businesses and sponsors
  • Kid Fun Zone
  • Laughter Yoga with Love Light Shine LLC
  • Corn-hole and other games

Plus, you’ll be cheered on the walk route by the wonderful Baltimore Blast Cheerleaders and accompanied by the Baltimore Twilighters Marching Band!  We are still finalizing Walk Day activities, so check back here closer to Walk Day and keep an eye on your emails for additional information.

Should I bring food?

That's up to you!  We'll have free snacks and water for all participants.

Donations:

Can I donate offline or send in my check/cash donations prior to the Walk?

Absolutely!  We accept cash and checks mailed to our NAMI Maryland office at:
10632 Little Patuxent Parkway, Suite 454
Columbia, MD 21044

Please include the name of the Walker and the team the donation should be applied to.  Make all checks out to NAMI Maryland.

Can I donate at the Walk?

Of course!  We encourage everyone to donate on Walk Day.  Walk Day is a celebration of months worth of community conversations leading up to the event, but reaching our fundraising goal is important, too!  Funds raised through NAMIWalks allow us to continue and expand important NAMI programs throughout our state.

You can deposit all donations - check, cash, or card - at the Donations Tent on Walk Day.

T-Shirts:

I raised $100 or more...I'm getting a shirt right?

Yep!  When you finish checking in, pop on over to the t-shirt tent to pick up your shirt.  Although we do our best to have a large variety of sizes available, it is impossible to predict what needs will be on Walk Day.  All shirts are on a first-come, first-serve basis!

I have 3 people who donated $100 each to me (or my team) - do they get shirts?

No, shirts are only for individual fundraisers who raise at least $100.

Our team has 5 people and we raised a combined $500, do we get 5 shirts?

No. Shirts are for individual fundraisers who raise at least $100.
