Where is NAMIWalks?

This year we will have TWO NAMIWalks locations on TWO DIFFERENT DATES:

7:00 AM – Check-In / T-Shirt Distribution Begins

7:00 AM – 11:00 AM – County of San Diego/HHSA Live Well San Diego Wellness Expo

7:45 AM - Warm Up Exercise/Activity

8:00 AM – NAMIWalks Opening and Program

8:15 AM – NAMIWalks Start – 5K is 2 laps around the field

11:00 AM - NAMIWalks and HHSA Live Well San Diego Wellness Expo Ends

What If It Rains?

MENTAL HEALTH is important RAIN OR SHINE so you can count on the Walk ON - we won't let a little rain stop us! If we are experiencing severe weather conditions, we will email all registered participants, as well as share on our social media pages and website.


The Walk

Can I run instead of walk?

We are a non-competitive walk, so the majority of people will be walkers. If you really want to run though- go for it! If you are running, please run off to the side and be considerate of our walkers!

I'm not sure that I/someone I am walking with can finish, but I/we still want to walk. What can I do?

We've got you covered! If you are unable to complete the full route, there is a cut through short cut halfway through the walk.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes! Strollers and wagons are allowed. We are family-friendly and hope to see lots of families!

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome at the San Diego event.

Only Service Animals wearing their specific “Service Animal” collar will be allowed at the Imperial Valley event.

 

Wellness Expo Resource Fairs

How can my organization obtain a table at the HHSA Live Well San Diego Wellness Expo OR Imperial Valley Wellness Expo?

Please email katielower@namisd.org to inquire about a table at each of our wellness expos. Commitment forms and funds for your sponsorship must be secured by April 12th to ensure your organization will have a table.

What types of organizations will be at the Live Well San Diego Wellness Expo and Imperial Valley Wellness Expo?

Our sponsors include Behavioral & Physical Health organizations, Hospitals & Residential Programs, Community Resources, Health Plans, Self-help, Peer Support, Housing Resources, Education & Employment, and more!

When is the Live Well San Diego Wellness Expo and Imperial Valley Wellness Expo?

The Wellness Expos run simultaneous with the NAMIWalks. You are welcome to browse the resources at any point from 7 AM to 11 AM.

Where is the Live Well San Diego Wellness Expo and Imperial Valley Wellness Expo?

The Imperial Valley Wellness Expo will be inside the mall near the food court and theater.

The HHSA Live Well San Diego Wellness Expo will be on Preble Field. NAMIWalks San Diego walk route runs along the perimeter of NTC Park, the Wellness Expo will be within the walk route.


Registration

I registered online, do I need to check-in at the walk?

If you earned your T-Shirt, please check-in at the Walker Check-In to receive your T-Shirt.

I'm a Team Captain, can I check in my entire team?

Check in will only be required if you are looking to pick up your earned T-Shirt

Do I need to register to walk?

Yes! Everyone walking must register (but don't worry, its free!). We encourage you to register ONLINE now.


Fun Stuff

What types of activities are available at the Walk?

We'll have community resource booths, free snacks, bottled water, music, and more!

Should I bring food?

That's up to you! We'll have protein bars and water stations.


Donations

Can I donate offline or send in my check/cash donations prior to the Walk?

YES! We accept checks mailed to PO Box 23700, San Diego, CA 92193 – please makes checks payable to NAMI San Diego and include the name of the Walker that the donation should be applied to.

Can I donate at the Walk?

Yes - we encourage everyone to donate at the walk! NAMIWalks is designed to be a fun and inspiring day for all, but reaching our fundraising goal is equally important, as it allows us to continue and/or expand important NAMI programs throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties!

How can I donate on Walk Day?

You can make a donation the day of at our donation tent. You can also log into www.namiwalks.org/sandiego to make a donation right from your mobile device! We accept cash, check and credit cards at the walk. Please make checks payable to: NAMIWalks San Diego (If you want the donations to go to an individual or team OTHER THAN YOURSELF, please include it in the subject line!)

Can I donate after Walk Day?

YES! We will accept donations to NAMIWalks San Diego & Imperial Counties 2023 up to 30 days after our event.


T-Shirts

I raised $100 or More....I'm getting a Shirt, Right?

Yes! When you check-in you will receive your t-shirt!  Sizes are not guaranteed - although we do our best to have a large variety of sizes available it is impossible to predict what the needs will be on Walk Day. T-Shirts are distributed on a first-come first-serve basis to eligible walkers.

I have 3 people who donated $100 each to me (or my team) - do they get shirts?

No. Shirts are only for individual fundraisers who raise at least $100.

Our team has 5 people and we raised a combined $500, do we get 5 shirts?

No. Shirts are for individual fundraisers who raise at least $100.
