Community Support Organizations

La Familia has a 40 year history of providing high-quality mental health and community support services in the San Francisco Bay Area. We started as part of a grassroots movement and our ties to the community remain deep and passionate. LA Familia is committed to building a vibrant and multicultural agency to provide services that meet the needs of the individuals and families in our community. La Familia also provides recovery-oriented behavioral health services. La Familia partners with NAMI in our re-entry program – NAMI's Peer to Peer class has resulted in a reduction in criminal justice interventions for our clients.

Bay Area Community Services (BACS) provides innovative behavioral health and housing services for teens, adults, older adults, and their families across the Bay Area. BACS' mission is to uplift under-served community members and their families by doing whatever it takes. Since its founding in 1953, BACS has become a local leader in homelessness prevention programs, facing the housing crisis head-on through rapid re-housing, targeted outreach for people experiencing homelessness and support navigating the web of services, purchasing housing across the Bay Area to house people who would otherwise be homeless, and much more. BACS also provides recovery-oriented behavioral health services. BACS partners with NAMI in our re-entry program – NAMI's Peer to Peer class has resulted in a reduction in criminal justice interventions for our clients.

BOSS was created in 1971 to help individuals with severe and persistent mental illness who had become displaced because of public hospital closures. Programs and services expanded over the past five decades to include services for unhoused, disabled, and low-income individuals, families, and neighborhoods in Alameda County. In 2013, executive leadership expanded the mission and began developing solutions for mass incarceration and community violence as unaddressed crises stemming from racially biased policies and systemic inequities.
Today, BOSS is recognized as a social justice leader with housing, reentry, and violence prevention programs, along with innovative service delivery methodologies. BOSS partners with NAMI in our re-entry program – NAMI's Peer to Peer class has resulted in a reduction in criminal justice interventions for our clients.

Pathway Community Church in Fremont is a fellowship open to everyone that seeks to be a multiplying community of Christ-followers. We currently provide virtual small groups for anyone to join, community outreach opportunities, and online worship on Sundays. Pathway has provided in-kind space for our NAMI Family to Family classes since 2002. In addition, Pathway provides tables and chairs for our various events. We thank them for their years of support for NAMI programs. You can visit their website at pathwayfremont.org to learn more about the church.
