NAMIWalks is going to be a little different this year. We’re not canceling it – we wouldn’t think of it when our collective mental health needs are at their greatest. NAMI’s programs and advocacy are needed more than ever, and with your help, we are pleased to present a walk for our times, NAMIWalks Your Way Grand Rapids: A Virtual Event on October 10.
How you can participate in NAMIWalks Your Way:

NAMIWalks Your Way means what it sounds like: participants get to make NAMIWalks their own. You can walk a 5K—through your neighborhood, around your backyard, on your treadmill. Or you can do something else meaningful and fun to celebrate our virtual walk day.

YOU can make a difference in the lives of families and individuals living with mental illness, and together we will raise the funds needed to continue and expand our free-of-charge support, public awareness, advocacy initiatives, and education programming for families and individuals throughout West Michigan. Together, we can ensure #MentalHealthForAll.


How you can Join Us on October 10th:

We'll be online with you throughout the day providing you with fun and inspirational activities - just like we would have if we were together at Davenport University, but with a twist! Tune in all day, or pick the social media feeds that interest you - this is YOUR DAY, YOUR WAY!


Join us on October 10th for a National Day of Hope!

Don't forget! Share to social media so we can share how you are Walking YOUR Way on our live feeds! Take photos and videos and share your activity on a favorite social media with the link to your walk fundraising page and the hashtags  #NotAlone #MentalHealthForAll #NAMIWalksMIWayGR. Together we can make October 10th a day to remember - Mental Health for All: A National Day of Hope.

The only limit of NAMIWalks Your Way is the reach of your imagination and the breadth of your compassion. Share your ideas with us! 

What participants are doing on October 10th:
  • Walking 3,500 steps for a 5K their way
  • Chalk Your Walk!
  • Planning a craft day with their kids 
  • Holding a virtual bake-off with their NAMIWalks team   
  • Practicing self-care with a favorite hobby: yoga, gardening, knitting 
  • Doing a 5K on the treadmill or stationary bike 
  • Hosting a virtual paint and sip party
  • Sharing their activity with friends and family and asking for a donation towards your NAMIWalks Your Way effort
