Thanks for Joining our United Day of Hope!

Supporting our yearly NAMIWalks event helps us meet our fundraising goals, so that we may continue to provide our free support groups, educational programs, workshops and advocacy initiatives for individuals with mental illness and their families, all across Virginia!

Our collective mental health needs are at their greatest now.  One in three U.S. adults reported experiencing depression or anxiety since the pandemic began. NAMI Virginia's programs and advocacy are needed more than ever.

What is NAMIWalks Your Way?

On October 9, 2021, NAMIWalks Virginia was held as a virtually virtual experience, united with NAMIWalks across the country.

What will this look like this year?

NAMI Virginia, along with our fourteen incredible Affiliates, provide a wide range of free, peer-led support groups, workshops, educational programs and advocacy initiatives across the state, both virtually and in-person. These services are part of an important grass-roots community-based safety net that can help prevent or mitigate crisis. When you walk to support NAMIWalks, you support the important free programs we provide throughout the state to those who need it most.

Our Walk Day Ceremony was live-broadcasted to Facebook & YouTube. Various affiliates around the state offered in-person regional hubs where walkers can be in community with others, get some NAMIWalks spirit, pick up their t-shirts, and at some locations, join a walk day route. Check local NAMI Affiliate social media pages and websites for more information about any events that have not yet occurred.

Our hashtags for this year's event included: #whyIwalk, #walkyourway and #130Challenge.

For more information on the 130 challenge, check out our resources tab.

You can STILL share photos and videos on your favorite social media with the link to your walk fundraising page and the hashtags #NotAlone #130Challenge #WhyIWalk and #WalkYourWay. Together we can make a difference for people affected by mental illness.
