Thanks for joining our team! As many of you know, it's named in loving memory of my dear friend Ward, who lived with bipolar disorder and never received the help he sought. He died far too young - as many people living with mental illness do.
This needs to stop. We're walking to raise funds and awareness and support NAMI's mission of providing support, education and advocacy for everyone impacted by mental illness. And I'm willing to wager that includes everyone in some way.
Last year, we were the #1 fundraising walk team - small but mighty! Please share our message that no one should be ashamed of mental illness, that help is available, and that NAMI is fighting for parity and against discrimination. Together, we really can change the world.Michelle
