On Saturday, May 11, 2019, the 16th Annual National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts (NAMI Mass) Walkathon, celebrating recovery, resiliency and hope happens. Thousands of people attend this community building, stigma-busting mental health awareness event each year.
Please donate to support this worthy cause that means so much to me and my family. You can donate online until July 11, 2019. Checks should be made payable to NAMI Mass.
The money you contribute helps sustain NAMI Mass’ education programs, support groups and advocacy efforts. As you may know, NAMI Mass’ programs are offered free of charge to participants. The funds also support their information and resource phone line, COMPASS, that assists thousands of people each year navigate the mental health system and the criminal justice diversion project that works to divert those with mental health conditions away from incarceration into treatment.
Your donation will be split among NAMI Mass, NAMI Newton-Wellesley and Hearth, Inc., which offers housing units for the homeless. Most importantly, your gift stays local and keeps NAMI Mass and NAMI Newton-Wellesley strong.
The Walk accounts for between 30 and 40 percent of the NAMI Mass annual budget. Each gift is vital to the financial well-being of the organization; so please be as generous as possible.
