On Sunday, May 5, 2019, I am walking with my family and friends as part of the Angels in the Outfield team, which was created in memory of my cousin, Judy after she took her own life at the young age of 26. It was after our first walk in 2016 that I became more involved with NAMI Mercer. Unfortunately, my cousin's tragic passing was not my family's first experience with mental illness. We wanted to do more to help.
By becoming a member of NAMI Mercer and sitting on the Board I have met amazing people that truly believe in fighting the mental illness stigma and helping those in need. Just this past fall my Mom and I attended the NAMI Family to Family education program for family members of adults living with mental illness. Not only did we learn new ways to handle situations, we met incredible people all going through the same things. This program, like ALL NAMI programs, was offered at No Cost.
Here's where we need your support! Please consider making a donation to this important cause that affects so many individuals and families and show your family and friends that you too are stigma free!
