Welcome to my personal NAMIWalks page. I have created this fundraising page because NAMI, and the work they do, is very important to me. NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans impacted by mental illness.
As many of you may know, I lost someone very special to me last year. My cousin Samuel “Sammy” Berman was family, a mentor and a friend. I looked up to him for not just because he was older but because he was funny, kind, and an amazing soccer player; but more importantly he was a caring, thoughtful and dedicated friend to me. From playing Xbox, to ping-pong or teaching me juggling tricks and soccer moves… I miss him!
He was taken from us at WAY too young an age by an insidious disease. Mental illness and Addiction don’t get the attention they should in this country. It is robbing us of some of our best & brightest… family & friends. So I dedicated my Mitzvah Project to raise awareness & money for NAMI. I invite you to join me and the Sam’s Warriors team in the NAMI walk on May 19th in Seaside Park, NJ, but if you can’t walk with me please donate to this worthy cause.
Donating to me through this page is easy, fast and secure. Your donation will make a difference in the lives of the 43.8 million adults who experience mental illness in a given year.
