Walk with NAMI in 2023

The power of our mission is being felt as never before. The achievement of "Mental Health for All" has never felt this critical yet closer to being realized.

It's not how far we walk at NAMIWalks South Central Indiana on October 22 at Donner Center, but how far we've come to make our milestones count. With your support and high spirits, we intend to make an unprecedented impact on mental health in our community.

                                    Frequently Asked Questions

Why support the walk?  Nami, the largest grassroots mental health organization in the country is dedicated to building better lives for millions of Americans affected by mental illness.  Our local walk benefits South Central Indiana's programming of education, support, and advocacy in Bartholomew and Jackson Counties.  All donations and efforts stay in our two counties.

What can I expect?   On-site registration begins at 2:00 PM and the program and activities will begin at 2:15 PM, ending by 4:00 PM.  There is a 2.1 and a 1 mile walk.  Refreshments will follow.

Is registration required?   Pre-registration is encouraged, but everyone is welcome to attend.

Do I need to join a team?  You can come as an individual, form a team, or join a team.  All are welcome!

What if I am not able to walk?   Some may choose to stay back to cheer on the other participants.  All levels of "walkers" are welcome.

Can I bring my pet?  Yes, pets are welcome on a leash.

Will there be bathrooms? Yes, bathrooms will be available.

Can I participate without making a financial donation?     Yes, the NAMI Walk is an opportunity for individuals and organizations to support our education, support, and advocacy efforts, but the walk itself is about much more.  The walk is about community, collaboration, awareness, education, connection, and fun!

What is the plan for inclement weather?    Check the forecast and prepare accordingly with umbrellas, extra layers of clothing, etc.  The walk will take place rain or shine.

Where to park?  There is some parking near the shelter and additional parking in front of the Donner Center on 22nd Street.
