Event Day Schedule
8:00 AM – Registration, Check-In, and Sponsor Tables Open
9:00 AM – Opening Ceremony on Stage
9:30 AM – Walk Begins
10:30 AM – Closing Ceremony
11:30 AM – Event Ends
What If It Rains?
MENTAL HEALTH is important RAIN OR SHINE so you can count on the Walk - we won't let a little rain stop us! If we are experiencing severe weather conditions, we will email all registered participants, as well as share on our social media and website.
Registration
I registered online, do I need to check-in at the walk?
Yes! All participants must check-in on Walk Day.
I'm a Team Captain, can I check in my entire team?
Yes! Group check-in is available and will speed up the check-in process; walkers can also check in individually if they prefer.
Do I need to register to walk?
Yes! Everyone walking must register (but don't worry, its free!). Registration at the Walk is from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM. We encourage you to register ONLINE now. If you are not registered by 2 pm on Friday, May 17, you will need to do same-day registration at the Walk. Registration forms will be available on Walk Day and our volunteers will help get you registered quickly so you can enjoy the event!
The Walk
Can I run instead of walk?
Absolutely! It’s a non-competitive fun walk with route options for 1 mile or 2 miles. You can run or walk!
Are strollers allowed?
Yes! Strollers and wagons are allowed. We are family-friendly and hope to see lots of families on November 5th!
Fun Stuff
What types of activities are available at the Walk? We'll have Community Resource Booths, Music with DJ Hindu, Kids Activities, Lawn Games, and complimentary refreshments. Keep an eye out for our Graffiti Wall - bring your photos, inspirational quotes, or use our markers to illustrate your reasons for walking!
Donations
Can I donate offline or send in my check/cash donations prior to the Walk?
YES! We accept checks mailed to 309 W. Millbrook Rd., Suite 121, Raleigh, NC 27609 - please include the name of the Walker that the donation should be applied to.
Can I donate at the Walk?
Yes - we encourage everyone to donate at the walk! NAMIWalks is designed to be a fun and inspiring day for all, but reaching our fundraising goal is equally important, as it allows us to continue and expand important NAMI programs throughout North Carolina.
How can I donate on Walk Day?
You can donate the day-of at our registration tent by scanning on-site QR Codes. You can also log into www.namiwalks.org/northcarolina to make a donation right from your mobile device! We also accept cash and check donations at the walk. Please make checks payable to: NAMIWalks North Carolina (If you want the donations to go to an individual or team other than yourself, please include it in the subject line!)
T-Shirts
I raised $100 or More....I'm getting a Shirt, Right?
Yes! Registered participants earn a T-shirt when they individually raise $100 or more (limited to one per qualifying participant). Sizing is based on availability, although we do our best to have a wide variety of sizes. Pick up T-shirts at Check-In or in advance at the NAMI NC office in Raleigh (check your emails for pick up times). For large teams – Team Captains can pick up the team shirts altogether at the check-in tent.
I have 3 people who donated $100 each to me (or my team) - do they get shirts?
No. Shirts are only for people who are registered for the walk and who raise at least $100.
Our team has 5 people and we raised a combined $500, do we get 5 shirts?
No. Shirts are for individual, registered fundraisers who raise at least $100.
