Become a NAMIWalks Hero. Join our team for the 2019 NAMIWalks event! We are walking to raise awareness of mental illness and raise funds for the important work of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

All funds raised directly support the mission of NAMI to provide support, education, and advocacy to individuals and families right here in our community.

Your support means a lot to me, our team, and the 43.8 million Americans who experience mental illness in a given year

I am a NAMIWalks hero! I am walking with NAMI because the work they do is very important to me. NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans impacted by mental illness.

Did you know that :
1 in 5 adults in America experience a mental illness.

We are walking again this year May 4th, here in Frisco Tx,  to honor our late Husband & Father - Servant Nickolas. We are also walking to keep the conversation on mental health going, to raise awareness about these illnesses and to  raise money to keep the support groups available to all of us that have been impacted by these brain disorders/ diseases.

Last year we raised more money than our intiail goal and with your support & generosity I know that we can do it again in 2019! You can donate and/or register by clicking on the Support Me button.

Schizophrenia is classified as a severe mental illness however if you knew Nickolas, you never would have known that he was living with such mental turmoil. Nickolas spent most of his time helping others- Family, Friends and strangers alike. You weren’t a stranger for long if you came across Nickolas.

Nickolas was a Preachers Son, spending most days in the Church, singing Gods praises in an A capella group with his cousins and brother or out being a Fisher of Men, telling everyone he met about the love and power of Christ. While we were Pregnant he started putting together sound and powerful sermons and posting them to his Facebook page hoping that he could spread the gospel of Christ to even more people. I had the honor of experiencing this wonderfuly handsome man live a full life, living out the prayers and dreams that we created together.

Schizophrenia took his life at only 34 years old however this illness did not define Nickolas Sr., his love for God, Gods word and Gods people did. Nickolas is my beautiful Husband, a loving Father, a truth seeking Minister, a devoted Son, Brother, his nieces & nephews favorite Uncle, an Air Force Veteran, generous Friend, counselor to anyone who needed a listening ear, business owner, mentor and is truly, truly missed and will be grieved until we meet again on Heavens celestial shore.

Our son Nickolas Jr. & I are dedicated to telling Nickolas’ story with hope /prayer that we can encourage those that are living with mental illness, shed light on the programs and support available and ultimately change the stigma and laws that hender those suffering, from getting the care that they desperately need.

NAMI provides support, education, and advocacy to hundreds of thousands of families, individuals, educators, mental health service providers, and law enforcement professionals each year. NAMIWalks helps us continue to provide these programs at no cost to the community.

Donating to NAMI through my page is easy, fast and secure. Your donation will make a difference and help people and families affected by mental illness right here in our region.

Thank you for supporting us & please continue to keep our entire Family in prayer.
