That statement holds true for me and those that love and support me. Being diagnosed bipolar has given a name to the life I assumed to be normal. That’s because for me It was normal, I’ve never known a difference.
Anxiety, depression, restlessness and ideas of grandeur are all emotions I’ve come to expect. Most days I experience one or more of them.
The rapid onset of these emotions is what characterize my experience with Bipolar disorder. **That’s right, it’s what makes me a snowflake. :)
The support I received from non-profit organizations played a pivotal role in kick starting my road to recovery. Those organizations could not exist without the financial backing of the community and the guidance of NAMI.
You can watch an informative TED Talk on this subject at this link: https://youtu.be/8Ki9dgG3P5M
SO…. Here’s the rub.
I am walking for NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, because the work they do is very important to me.
As the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization, NAMI provides support, education and advocacy for millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI is a lifeline for many people and families who need a place to turn. NAMI gives them help and hope.
Donating to me through this page is easy, fast and secure. Your donation directly supports the mission of NAMI, and it means a lot to me personally.
Thank you for your support.
