Thank you – our many family and friends – who hear our appeal each spring. NAMI is close to our hearts and continues to be a force for good in our community, in our state and across the nation.
The NAMIWalks event we participate in supports all levels of NAMI – nationally, at the state level and locally in Howard County, Maryland where we live. Thank you for your generosity and continuing willingness to hear – and support – our pleas for your help.
Ryan is in recovery … working, writing, traveling … and each of us in his family supports and cheers him on.
NAMI’s Family to Family course helped us learn how to do that.
On June 1, Jennifer and I and our team (“Making Strides”) will join thousands of others for this year’s Maryland NAMIWalk event. We do this because we – and many, many of our friends and neighbors – have been greatly helped by what NAMI does for all of us affected by mental illness. And there ARE many … family members, friends and others of the 1 in 5 adults who experience a mental illness each year.
We’re asking you to support our Walk and raise funds to help us support this vital work for other families like ours. Donating to us through this page is easy, fast and secure. Your donation will make a difference in the lives of the 43.8 million adults who experience mental illness in a given year.
Please join us ... and thank you for your support!
NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans impacted by mental illness. Included in its many programs are education classes and public events, support groups, and advocacy for vital support and services in the community. All of this is offered without cost to participants.
