Team Captain Our Greatest Teachers NAMIWalks Franklin County

Here we are again!! For those of you who know me know that I am a mental health advocate. I am also one who lives with a mental illness. For these reasons, I am a NAMIWalks hero! I am walking with NAMI because the work they do is very important to me. NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans impacted by mental illness.

Did you know that :
1 in 5 adults in America experience a mental illness.

This is a very real statistic. Some individuals are aware and many are in denial for fear or lack of knowledge.

NAMI provides support, education, and advocacy to hundreds of thousands of families, individuals, educators, mental health service providers, and law enforcement professionals each year. NAMIWalks helps us continue to provide these programs at no cost to the community.

Donating to NAMI through my page is easy, fast and secure. Your donation will make a difference and help people and families affected by mental illness right here in our region.

Mental Illness not only affects me but also some of my friends and family. Because of NAMIwalks and donations given, I personally was able to benefit from Family to Family classes, Tea and Tears groups, other connections and support. It is my goal to spread the word about Mental Health, NAMI and it’s support and to Stump the Stigma.

I encourage you to not only make a donation but consider joining my walk team or create one of your own. Meet us at Wolfe Park, June 8 for a 5k. Registration starts at 8:30 walk begins at 9:30.

Thank you so much for supporting me!
