Welcome to NAMI Greater Toledo's 11th year "Walking for Mental Health!"

As NAMIWalks celebrates its 15th anniversary, we invite you to take part in NAMI’s largest and most successful mental health awareness and fundraising event in the country.

When you walk with NAMI, you join the movement to raise awareness of mental illness and raise funds for our mission to help individuals and families right here in our region.  We are constantly focusing on building awareness and ending stigma by encouraging others to learn about mental health and see the person, not the illness through attendance to our educational classes and ongoing support groups.

Our outstanding Honorary Media Chair, Eric Chase,  92.5 KISS FM iHeart Radio shares, "I'm so pleased to be a part of NAMi and all of its efforts. Battling bipolar two is a daily, and often minute by minute challenge for me, but thankfully, I've been able to manage the disorder with a fantastic therapist and the right medications, as well as years of positive and negative experiences that have given me an innate insight on mental health.  I seek to share these and other resources I have whenever needed on my radio show and in general life, because I know just how common mental illness is.  I'm fortunate that I have learned to take the fight TO bipolar, and I want to aid others like me who suffer from any variety of mental illness.

Eric Chase, Honorary Media Chair                     Bill Berry, Honorary Business Chair

Our distinguished Honorary Business Chair, Bill Berry shares, "As a Senior Executive of a large international company, I was always aware of the impact that poor Mental Health had on our employees family lives as well as our organizations bottom line.  As a result, we attempted to implement not just a physical wellness program but also a Mental wellness program.  What was more difficult was to encourage open dialogue within the company about the impact that Depression, Anxiety, and other mental illnesses was having on our employees ability to fully focus at work.  The stigma was difficult to battle.  On the home front, I also have a beautiful, bright and intelligent 15 year old daughter who suffers from Boarderline Personality Disorder, which has impacted her life and that of our family and her friends.  Due to a lack of formal resources, NAMI of Greater Toledo has been there to provide aid through the ebbs and flows of hope one experiences as a caregiver.  Programs, especially Family to Family and NAMI Basics to name but a few, help caregivers become educated, set boundaries, and ensure that people know they are not alone.  That is why I not only support NAMI financially but also give freely and willingly of my time."

Register today and join us as we improve lives and our communities one step at a time.  Assist us in raising funds to provide support, education and advocacy programs at no cost to participants.  We encourage everyone to become #Stigma Free and Join the Movement!
