The NAMIWalks Greater LA County Mental Health Festival is not only a Walk and Resource Fair but also a lively, family-friendly event with fun activities, food trucks, and stage presentations—all set in the beautiful LA State Historic Park. More importantly, the funds raised support vital local programs, helping the 1 in 5 U.S. adults affected by mental health conditions. These programs include:
✅ Education & Support for individuals and families affected by mental illness
✅ Early Intervention & Mental Health Awareness in schools and workplaces
✅ County-wide Advocacy for mental health care, quality of life, and justice system diversion
✅ Outreach & Translation Services for Spanish-, Mandarin-, Armenian-, and Japanese-speaking communities
✅ Peer Specialist Training to help individuals with lived experience find meaningful employment
At NAMI GLAC, we’re dedicated to changing the conversation around mental health. By showing up publicly and actively for those affected by mental illness, we help reshape how our colleagues, neighbors, and even our own families perceive mental health challenges.
Our hearts go out to our Greater Los Angeles community during the fires. During this challenging time for Los Angeles residents, it is more important than ever to take care of our mental health and to find support from one another. If you or someone you know needs support, then please review our Trauma Resources page to find local, state, and national resources. These resources can help those directly impacted by wildfires, offer tips for supporting someone you care about, and contain suggestions for talking to children about natural disasters. We encourage you to reach out to the NAMI GLAC Connect with Hope Warmline to connect with our empathetic specialists if you need mental health support. The team is available Monday through Friday from 10AM to 8PM by phone at 818-208-1801 or by email at Hope@NAMIGLAC.org.
