Earlier this year, the Pottstown community lost one of its brightest young lights, Austin Ramos. Anyone lucky enough to be friends with Austin knows how smart, funny, kind, and special he was. There's no way his energetic spirit and example will be forgotten.

As evident by his drive to become a counselor, Austin's mission in life was to help others, specifically in mental health. To help keep that goal alive, we are putting together a team "Austin's Fight To Promote Mental Health." It will provide 2 opportunities to participate and/or donate, depending on one's own interest or availability. These events will also give an opportunity for his friends and loved ones to spend important quality time together.

(1) ... Update - On Saturday, July 23, we hosted our own 1-day dek hockey tournament. We had over 70 players and have raised $6500 to date. Thanks to everyone who came out and worked hard to make it possible. Here are the pictures from the event

(2) ... On Sunday, September 25, starting at 1 pm, we will take part as a team in the NAMI Walk 5K at Philadelphia's Navy Yard.

All proceeds will go to the National Alliance for Mental Illness. NAMI is the country's largest mental health charity, which provides direct, free programs and support groups for those in need, as well as education and advocacy.

While there is no minimum required on the site, we are hoping for a minimum $25 donation for participation. But feel free to set your own amount. Participants of either event will get an orange t-shirt to wear in honor of Austin.

→ If you are participating in the walk, please (1) register and (2) donate at by clicking "Join Our Team". You should show up on the team roster. If you already paid for playing in the hockey, you’re not expected to pay double/again.

→ If you are only donating and not participating, please go to and click "Support Us". You will eventually get an email about picking up a shirt as well, if you want.

A tax-deductible charity receipt will be emailed to you after donating.

If you have any questions please contact Ian Lawrence at [email protected] or 484-942-9493.

Feel free to share the donation links above, the flier , the Facebook post , the newspaper article , or this info doc  . Thank you for your help and support.
