Welcome to my personal NAMIWalks fundraising page. I am walking with NAMI because they were partly responsible for my recovery. Had it not been for the support, education and direction they provided me, I would have continued spiraling downward. In fact, NAMI'S work is so important to me that I am involved in their; Peer Connection, In Our Own Voice, Family to Family and am the state trainer for Peer to Peer.
In December, I had the privilege of being appointed to the state board of NAMI, and also I am on the Walk Committee. To be transparent, it is not only my journey that motivates me, but also to help others deal with the dramatic effects of mental illness. I lost my mother to suicide at age and a first cousin as well. This year I dedicate my efforts to all families who are dealing with the effects of a loved one taking their own life.
In the 20+ years of personally dealing with mental illness, I have found NAMI to be the best organization that can support, educate and advocate for mental wellness,
