Find A Walk

Dear Friends, Family and Neighbors,

Did you know that :
1 in 5 adults in America experience a mental illness.

NAMI provides support, education, and advocacy to hundreds of thousands of families, individuals, educators, mental health service providers, and law enforcement professionals each year. NAMIWalks helps us continue to provide these programs at no cost to the community

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is a nonprofit that is dear to my heart.  I have been involved with NAMI since my oldest child had a psychotic break during college; he courageously struggles to this day.  My family does its best to support and advocate for him in our very broken mental health care system.  We have benefited greatly from the tremendous support and education provided by NAMI, for which we are so grateful. NAMI came to our rescue in those darkest hours, when we felt as though our world had come to a crashing end.

For the first time in several years, I get to Walk with my team (YAY!) as I am no longer the Walk Manager.  The NAMIWalk 5K will take place on Saturday, October 5 at Grand Park and I want to personally invite you to join me in supporting NAMIWalks- the largest and most successful mental health fundraising and awareness event in the United States!  Participation can also be virtual (although it's a super fun, family and pet friendly event).  Because it's NAMIWalks' Sweet Sixteen, the 16th year here in LA, my image is at my Sweet 16.

Donating to me through this page is easy, fast and secure. Your donation will make a difference and help people and families affected by mental illness right here in our region. Any donation you feel comfortable with would mean a lot to me.

If you know anyone who has a friend or family member dealing with mental health challenges, let them know about NAMI. I don't know how I and my own family would have coped without NAMI's presence.

Feel free to be in touch if you have any questions.  Thank you for your support.

Warm regards,

Shelley
