I am a NAMIWalks hero! I am walking with NAMI because the work they do is very important to me. NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans impacted by mental illness.

I became involved with NAMI Southern Arizona back in 2003 because of my son's struggle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  I found the education and support group services to be powerful learning experiences and a wonderful way to network with others who have a loved one with a mental illness.  I've been a volunteer and member ever since.  I'm very excited about a new initiative that we're involved with focusing on reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and increasing help-seeking behavior among youth ages 10-24.  It's a privilege to help support NAMI's mission here in Southern Arizona.

Did you know that :
1 in 5 adults in America experience a mental illness.

NAMI provides support, education, and advocacy to hundreds of thousands of families, individuals, educators, mental health service providers, and law enforcement professionals each year. NAMIWalks helps us continue to provide these programs at no cost to the community.

Donating to NAMI through my page is easy, fast and secure. Your donation will make a difference and help people and families affected by mental illness right here in our region.

Thank you for supporting me!
