What is NAMIWalks Chicago? 

NAMIWalks Chicago is a FREE 5k walk gathering thousands of community members to raise awareness around mental health, end stigma and fundraise for crucial mental health services. It’s easy to walk--just register on this site as an individual, team captain, or with a team. Curious what NAMIWalks Chicago looks like? You can take a peek at last year’s walk here. 

Why do we walk? 

We come together every year to show support for mental health. NAMIWalks Chicago is there to show that there is a community of support surrounding all of us. Not to mention--it’s tons of fun! 

 

What will NAMIWalks Chicago look like during COVID19? 

We’ll be honest--just like everyone else, we don’t know what the future holds. But NAMIWalks Chicago will happen no matter what. Whether we’re physically together or in smaller groups, NAMIWalks Chicago will be there to bring our community together for hope, healing, and awareness for mental health.

 

Who is NAMI Chicago? 

NAMI Chicago is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Chicago supporting mental health education, support, and advocacy. We are one of the most active affiliates of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI Chicago promotes mental wellness, mental health care access and provides support and expertise for many communities in Chicago and beyond. 

 

What am I fundraising for? 

You’re fundraising to provide support, education, and advocacy for mental health in Chicago and beyond. Your donations get NAMI Chicago into schools to talk about mental health, train first responders to address mental health crises, guide callers on our mental health Helpline, and more.

 

How do I fundraise? 

A few steps to fundraise are getting friends, family, and coworkers to donate, fundraising through Facebook, getting a matching donation from your workplace, and donating on your own page. Have questions? Look out for a fundraising FAQ coming out soon!
