As NAMIWalks nationally celebrates its 16th anniversary, we invite you to take part in NAMI’s largest and most successful mental health awareness and fundraising event in the country. When you walk with NAMI, you join the movement to raise awareness of mental illness and raise funds for our mission to help individuals and families right here in our region.  

Why We Walk

NAMIWalks Dallas, in it's 13th year,  walks to fight the stigma of mental illness. Stigma is when someone, or even you yourself, views a person in a negative way just because they have a mental health condition. Some people describe stigma as a feeling of shame or judgement from someone else. Stigma can even come from an internal place, confusing feeling bad with being bad.

Navigating life with a mental health condition can be tough, and the isolation, blame and secrecy that is often encouraged by stigma can create huge challenges to reaching out, getting needed support and living well. Learning how to avoid and address stigma are important for all of us, especially when you realize stigma’s effects:

Join us after NAMIWalks that night, May 5th at 6:00pm to watch the Frisco RoughRiders take on the Midland RockHounds! First pitch is at 7:05pm.

Feel free to invite friends and family to purchase a great ticket that includes:

  • Unlimited hot dogs, brats, chips, peanuts & Dr Pepper products frmo 6:00 - 8:30pm
  • Portion of each ticket benefits NAMI Dallas
  • RoughRiders Souvenir for each guest
