For the second year in a row, NAMIWalks will be a little different — while making a lot of difference. In 2021, it’s still going to be “your way.” We're going HYBRID! We're offering some of our virtual elements that we introduced last year, and hosting our traditional in-person walk, in compliance with the local health department COVID-19 guidelines. We continue to prove our resilience and make the event our own.

Our collective mental health needs are at their greatest now. One in three U.S. adults reported experiencing depression or anxiety since the pandemic began. NAMI’s programs and advocacy are needed more than ever, and with your help, we are pleased to present NAMIWalks Your Way Vermont on Saturday, October 9, 2021!

What is NAMIWalks Your Way? 

Our NAMIWalks Your Way fundraiser on October 9th will be HYBRID - an in-person event and/or a virtual experience, united with NAMIWalks across the country. NAMIWalks Your Way means putting one foot in front of the other, either actually or virtually. Participants get to use their creativity, with the main rule that we continue to advance towards our goal by leaps and bounds. 

Creativity Rules: What participants are doing on event day

Many participants will meet on the lawn of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington​ for a walk. But if you are unable to walk with us, there are other ways to participate:

  • Walk around your neighborhood
  • Hike up Mount Mansfield
  • Take a bike ride and check out the fall foliage
  • Practice self-care with a favorite hobby: yoga, gardening, knitting 
  • Plan a socially distant and safe walk with your team or neighbors

Be sure to download our Signs of Hope and snap a selfie. In fact, take lots of photos and videos and share your activity on your favorite social media with the link to your walk fundraising page and the hashtag #NotAlone. Together we can make a difference for people affected by mental illness.  The only limit of NAMIWalks Your Way is staying safe, healthy, and inspired. Share your ideas with us!

Register Today, Fundraise and Earn Amazing Prizes! 

Whether you walk with us or plan your own activity and participate in YOUR OWN WAY, you will still be able to earn amazing and exclusive NAMIWalks prizes! All you have to do is ASK. Ask people to support you and donate to your fundraising page. 

Participants who raise $100 will receive a 2021 Heather Grey NAMIWalks T-Shirt!

Then, set another fundraising goal. When you reach that goal, choose an item to get in addition to your NAMIWalks T-Shirt!

  • $250 - Your choice of Bucket Hat, Water Bottle or Tank Top
  • $500 - Your choice of Beach Blanket or Baseball T-Shirt
  • $1,000 - Your choice of Quad Chair or Polo Shirt
  • $1,500 - Your choice of Full-Zip Hoodie or Speaker Cooler
  • $2,000 - Your choice of Cutter $ Buck Jacket or Herschel Duffel Bag
