We are excited to be moving in to a new season of change: of improved health on the horizon for our communities; of opportunities to re-connect, face-to-face; and as a newly merged organization with an even greater reach across Jefferson, Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. With this momentum, we must work to continue raising funds to keep pace with the rising need for mental health care.
Saturday, October 9, 202 is the culmination of Mental Illness Awareness Week, and every step helps move us closer to our goal. We plan to have a send-off point (in person) in both Milwaukee and Waukesha counties, but rather than the traditional 5K (with a mapped route, shared start time and a large gathering), we'll get to meet and greet you before sending you off for Your Day, Your Way. Or, join us online for our virtual program - whatever feels right for you.
Stop by and see us on Event Day!
- Say hello to staff and learn more about our NAMI Southeast Wisconsin programs and services
- Take pictures with your team or family in front of our event backdrop
- Participate in a commemorative craft
- Enter in our drawing for prizes
- Drop off donations you've collected
- Enjoy live music, yoga warm-up and cool-down
- Meet our sponsors and learn more about community services surrounding mental health
- If you've raised $100 or more to your individual fundraising page, pick up your event t-shirt!
The rest of the day is up to you! Take pictures of whatever activity you do for our Walk Day, and be sure to share them on your social media (and don't forget to provide a link to your personal fundraising page, too!). Use the hashtag #NotAlone and be sure to share with us, too!
We would love to hear WHY you Walk with NAMIWalks.
Personalize one of our "Signs of Hope" and send us a photo of you holding the sign! Sharing your story is a powerful way to reach others & reduce stigma. You can even use the photo on your fundraising page. Email your photos or questions to your Walk Manager. Together we can make a difference for people affected by mental health conditions.
