What is NAMIWalks Greater Toledo?

NAMIWalks Greater Toledo is a community event organized by the National Alliance on
Mental Illness (NAMI) to raise awareness, fight stigma, and support mental health advocacy,
education, and services in the Greater Toledo area.

Where can I park?

Free parking is generously provided by Owens Corning at 1 Owens Corning Parkway,
Toledo, OH 43659. A convenient path from the Owens Corning lot leads directly to
Middlegrounds Metropark. Volunteers will be stationed along the route to guide and cheer
you on!

What is the distance of the walk?

The walk is a 0.8-mile (1.27 km) loop within the park.

Is there a registration fee?

No! Registration is free. Participants are encouraged to fundraise in support of NAMI’s
mission.

Registration and Participation

How do I register?

Visit www.namiwalks.org/greatertoledo to sign up as an individual, start a team, or join an
existing one.

Can I register on the day of the event?

Yes! On-site registration begins at 10:00 AM. However, we strongly encourage pre-
registering online.

Can I participate virtually?

Absolutely! If you can’t attend in person, you can walk in your neighborhood, a local park, or
on a treadmill. Don’t forget to share your experience using the hashtag #NAMIWalksToledo.

Fundraising and Donations

How do I fundraise for NAMIWalks?

After registering, you’ll receive access to a personal fundraising page. Share it via email or
social media to collect donations.

Is fundraising required?

Not at all—though it’s encouraged! Every dollar raised supports vital mental health
programs in our community.

How do I earn a NAMIWalks T-shirt?

Raise at least $100 through your individual fundraising page (not your team page) to
qualify.
Note: One shirt per qualifying participant.
All funds raised go directly to local mental health programs and services.

T-shirt sizing:
Sizes are based on T-shirt measurements, not body measurements. Choose your size based
on how you prefer the fit.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes! NAMI Greater Toledo is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are
tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Event Day Details

What time does the event start?

10:00 AM – Check-in
10:30 AM – Opening ceremony
11:30 AM – Walk begins

What should I bring?

Comfortable walking shoes, water, sunscreen, a great attitude, and team spirit! Feel free to
wear team shirts or themed outfits.

Will there be food and water?

Yes! Bottled water will be available under the pavilion. Two food trucks will be on-site—
check out Kickback Coffee Toledo and Naan Stop Kebap on Facebook!

Is the walk dog-friendly?

Yes! Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please note that the event includes loud
music, crowds, and other dogs. Consider your pet’s temperament. Bring water for your pup
and clean up after them.
Middlegrounds Metropark also has a dog-friendly water fountain and a public dog park.

Accessibility and Safety

Is the route accessible for strollers and wheelchairs?

Yes! The loop includes paved and fine gravel paths and is accessible for strollers and
wheelchairs.

Will accessible restrooms be available?

Yes! We are excited to offer the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ new
Accessible Restroom Trailer for this event.

What if it rains?

NAMIWalks is a rain-or-shine event. In case of severe weather, updates will be posted on
our social media channels.

Will medical support be available?

Yes, first aid and medical personnel will be on-site.
