What is NAMIWalks Your Way?
On May 30, NAMIWalks will be a virtual experience and joined by NAMIWalks across the country. NAMIWalks Your Way means what it sounds like: participants get to make NAMIWalks their own. You can walk a 5K—through your neighborhood, around your backyard, on your treadmill. Or you can do something else meaningful and fun to celebrate our virtual walk day.
What participants are doing on May 30:
- Walking 3,500 steps for a 5K their way
- Planning a craft day with their kids
- Holding a virtual bake-off with their team
- Practicing self-care with a favorite hobby: yoga, gardening, knitting
- Doing a 5K on the treadmill or stationary bike
- Hosting a virtual paint and sip party

Take photos and videos and share your activity on a favorite social media with the link to your walk fundraising page and tag @NAMIMaryland, #RocktheWalk2020 & #MentalHealthForAll. Together we can make May 30 a day to remember - Mental Health for All: A National Day of Hope.
How do I get a NAMIWalks t-shirt?
T-shirts are only for walkers who have raised $100 or more on their personal fundraising page. NAMI Maryland will have an in-person Walk Celebration when quarantine is lifted in Maryland. T-shirts will be distributed at this event. We will make sure to keep every registered participant notified with any changes or updates.

Morning Exercise with Monquelle Jordan

Start your morning off right with personal trainer Monquelle Jordan for a great 30 minute exercise to get your heart pumping and ready for the day!
Monquelle Jordan is an army military veteran who served two tours in Iraq. Jordan was uniquely recognized in the military for his skills to get soldiers in great shape. After the military, his passion for personal training became a business. Artt Life/Always Ready to Train was born. Jordan has trained countless celebrities, professional athletes, and everyday hard workers for 14 years.
NAMIWalks Your Way Maryland Opening Ceremonies

Including a warm-up from our friends at FitBound, a welcome from Deputy Secretary of Behavioral Health, Dr. Aliya Jones, and a message from special guest speaker, retired NFL Player Brandon Coleman. Paint & Sip with Miriam Hughes

Join us for our guided paint & sip with artist/instructor Miriam Hughes! Follow along or just tune in as Miriam shows three different techniques you can do with watercolors. Paint with us and drink a non-alcoholic beverage of your choice, like water, tea, coffee, or even chocolate milk!

Artist/Instructor Miriam Hughes will guide you on this journey to discover the power of creative energy. Miriam works in pastels, watercolors and fibers and she finds sketching almost daily to be more fun than eating ice cream, sleeping or doing real work.
Guided Meditation with Dr. Misha Martin

Take time to breathe and restore your mind through meditation and mindfulness to help reduce stress and increase resilience.
Dr. Misha Martin is the founder of SoulScience Health and Wellness Center and she firmly believes that mental health affects all aspects of health and should be a priority in health care. It is her hope that patients with mental health illness find SoulScience Health and Wellness Center a place of healing and community. When Dr. Martin is not working, she enjoys cooking, nature walks with her family and dog, traveling, and visiting dear friends and family.
